Densitron Makes New 8” TFT Display fit for Broadcast

High-resolution and clarity plus a touch screen option

(September 15, 2017). Densitron, (Hall 10, Stand D42) a global leader in display, monitor and embedded computing solutions, will be unveiling its first display developed specifically for the broadcast market.  The 8” 2U IPS TFT display, which is also available as a Projected Capacitive Touch (PCT) screen option, optically bonded, features exceptional 1600 x 480 resolution for this form factor. Its size makes it ideal for any 2U rack mounted application.

“Our conversations with broadcast customers and others in the industry have highlighted demand for this size of module that would fit into a rack mounted display. We’ve also been aware of the industry’s growing preference for touch screen technology,” says Luo Luo, Densitron’s global product manager for TFTs.

“Consequently, we have used our long-term expertise to make it suitable for the rigours of the broadcast industry. Also, mindful of the fact that broadcasters don’t have the budgets to change their technology, we’ve designed the display for longevity too.”

The new 8” display features IPS glass to ensure the viewing requirements of rack based designs.  There are also options for customisation such as bespoke lenses, a black border, FPC/backlight modifications and/or optical bonding, to meet design and environmental considerations

“Densitron specialises in addressing challenges and with this new display we’ve been very focused on considering the needs of the broadcaster,” says Luo Luo. “We’re looking forward to demonstrating it on the IBC stand and discussing further options with those from the industry.”
